Job Description

We are currently recruiting for an Associate to join Active Equities Strategy and Operations team. The Active Equities (AE) department primarily invests in common equity of publicly traded companies across sectors, geographies, and size. The department’s strategies are deployed across four regional investment teams spanning North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America. The AE Strategy & Operations group leads the strategy and business management activities for the department including supporting the operational, administrative and financial aspects of the department and overall strategic initiatives.


Our team is uniquely positioned to provide support to Active Equities leaders as we take on some of the most important strategic topics, lead large-scale change programs and experiment with innovations. 

As a part of a nimble team, you will have an opportunity to work with experienced strategists and public market investors and will learn and develop your skills through mentorship and apprenticeship. You will work closely with our Active Equities colleagues across geographies, have exposure to senior leaders, and will draw on subject-matter experts from across the Fund.

As part of our team, you will:

  • Contribute to department-wide strategy initiatives that are the priorities to the SMD and senior leaders
  • Provide project management support to complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives
  • Bring creativity and conceptual framing skills to structuring complex problems 
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis to draw differentiated insights
  • Communicate succinctly by presenting your analytical findings in compelling and impactful way
  • Support the annual business planning process and quarterly departmental reporting
  • Collaborate with the rest of the Strategy and Operations and Portfolio Management team to ensure successful operation of the department

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of experience in consulting or other strategy work, ideally with experience in the investment industry
  • Proven business judgement
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively (verbally, visually and in writing)
  • Experience presenting to various levels and writing reports for senior management levels
  • Strong Word and PowerPoint skills and advanced skills in Excel
  • Extremely motivated and ambitious, eager to learn, adaptable and determined
  • An MBA or CFA designation is preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities, with interpersonal and communication skills suited to a professional and thoughtful corporate environment
  • Demonstrated organizational and project management skills, with exceptional attention to detail
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as to perform effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Exemplifies our Guiding Principles of integrity, partnership and high performance
