About the RoleAre you a strategic marketer with a passion for the retail industry? EnsembleIQ is looking for an Assistant Marketing Manager to drive growth for some of the industry’s most prestigious brands.
In this role, you will work under the guidance of our Marketing Director and Senior Director to build and execute integrated marketing programs that fuel audience growth, event attendance, and high-quality sales leads.
- Marketing Strategy: Support the overall marketing strategy for brand media and events, to ensure fulfillment of sales, brand, and event marketing objectives via a variety of marketing channels.
- Marketing Execution: Closely partner with the Marketing Director and Event Registration Specialist for marketing execution support of campaigns, initiatives and events.
- Sales Marketing: Lead campaigns and initiatives to drive brand/product awareness with customers, sponsors, and prospects—creating demand, nurturing interest, and generating qualified leads to increase the overall sales pipeline. Liaison with the sales team to understand marketing needs and gather details on what needs to be communicated.
- Brand Marketing: Develop the overarching brand marketing strategy to establish and communicate the value proposition of the brands within the portfolio—elevating the brands within the industry. Execute campaigns across a variety of channels, including email, programmatic, content syndication, retail media, and more. Liaison with the publisher and editor to understand key brand attributes to support marketing needs.
- Event & Award Marketing: Develop, execute, and manage marketing campaigns for multiple B2B events and awards across the Canadian retail industry—driving interest, registrations, attendance, nominations, and sponsorship leads throughout the event & award cycles; Working closely with the brand team and with Event Operations.
- Marketing Analysis & Reporting: Measure, track and analyze the performance of campaigns and marketing activities, providing recommendations to adjust and optimize the marketing strategy for growth.
- Team Coordination: Collaborate with other internal stakeholders to ensure the timely and quality execution of key marketing projects that span multiple brands and teams, including Editorial and Audience Development.
- 4+ years of B2B marketing experience, including sales marketing, and event/webinar experience with retail markets preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing or equivalent experience
- 5% business travel to events, as required
- Technical Proficiency
- Copywriting: Strong marketing copywriting skills with attention to detail. Writing marketing emails, social posts, and sales collateral.
- Design: A good eye for design and the ability to create visually engaging content.
- Campaign Analysis: Skilled at measurement, tracking, and analysis of the performance of campaigns (A/B testing, benchmarking, etc.). Comfortable using Google Sheets to manage data.
- Software Experience
- Marketing Automation Tool: Experience with marketing data and ESPs, preferably Marketo.
- Design Tool: Experience with Canva or Adobe Suite is required.
- Proficiency in marketing platforms like Stripo, Hootsuite or Buffer, Swoogo, LinkedIn Ads, and Google Ads (or similar) is required.

- Collaborative & Good Communicator: You like to work with people. You listen to their needs and can successfully secure buy-in for initiatives. Clear and effective communication, especially through presentations, both written and verbal is a must.

Compensation: $65,000 - $75,000 CAD + benefits per year. Our salary ranges are determined by role, skills, experience, education and location.
