The successful candidate will be responsible for development and maintenance of AS/400 business systems. They must demonstrate analytical and creative problem solving abilities, work well with time constraints, and be highly motivated to learn and to apply knowledge.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain custom business applications and be part of a small development team
  • Analyze system issues and design, code and test system solutions which will resolve the issues
  • Other duties as required to support AS/400 users

Qualifications:

  • Post secondary diploma/degree in related field
  • Strong RPG, RPGLE, SQLRPGLE and CL with a minimum 5 years programming experience
  • Highly developed written, verbal, and presentation communication skills that effectively articulates complex technical concepts to a diverse and, at times, non-technical audience at all levels in the organization
  • Be results oriented, self-motivated and a team player

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with OS/400 operating system upgrades and PTFs.
  • Experience with system configuration, performance monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work with team members to understand the business requirements and assist with the development of effective solutions to meet the client's needs
  • Experience with creating APIs and data sharing to other non-AS400 systems
  • Analytical and problem-solving / troubleshooting skills
