Location: This is a hybrid role with a minimum in-office requirement of 3 days per week in the Ottawa, ON office located at 40 Hines Rd, Ottawa, ON K2K 2M5.

Position Summary:

We are seeking an Applied AI Full-Stack Endpoint Engineer (macOS) with a strong quality-first and AI-native mindset to design, develop, test, and maintain secure, scalable, and reliable software solutions. This role goes beyond traditional feature development: you will be deeply involved in architectural design, test strategy, and quality engineering, ensuring that security and reliability are built into the product from day one.

Responsibilities:

  • AI-Accelerated Development: Utilize AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) to design, develop, and test macOS applications and supporting backend services with a focus on quality, performance, and security.

  • End-to-End Ownership: Take full ownership of features, from AI-assisted prototyping and implementation through to validation and high-velocity release.

  • Strategic Collaboration: Partner with architects and developers to define technical requirements and quality gates, utilizing AI to explore multiple implementation paths and architectural trade-offs.

  • Clean & Testable Code: Produce clean, maintainable code in C++, Python, or other relevant languages. Leverage AI to improve test coverage, testability, and automation effectiveness.

  • Automated Quality Engineering: Leverage AI to create and maintain comprehensive automated tests (unit, integration, system) as a standard part of the development lifecycle, using AI to identify edge cases and security vulnerabilities.

  • CI/CD Integration: Contribute to CI/CD pipelines by embedding automated testing and AI-driven quality checks into the deployment workflow.

  • Platform Expertise: Stay up to date with macOS platform changes, emerging AI technologies, and evolving security threats to ensure the product remains at the cutting edge.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience: Solid experience as a full-stack or systems engineer, with hands-on development on macOS or Linux platforms.

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong proficiency in C++ or Python, with a track record of building reliable and testable systems.

  • AI Mastery: Proven ability to leverage AI-driven or AI-assisted software development tools to accelerate the SDLC while maintaining high standards of engineering excellence.

  • Quality Engineering: Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, design patterns, and quality engineering principles.

  • Testing Expertise: Deep experience in automated testing frameworks, test design, and defect analysis.

  • DevOps & Agile: Experience with Agile development, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Security Mindset: Background in security engineering, threat modeling, or secure coding is a significant plus.

  • Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to manage technical uncertainty in a fast-paced environment.
