As a Senior Application Support Analyst, Assistant Vice President at Citi, you will take ownership of mission-critical production applications, ensuring the stability, performance, and continuous availability that global financial operations depend on. This is a senior-level role with real influence — you will act as a subject matter expert, coordinate across technology and business teams, and directly shape the reliability of systems used by traders, business users, and operations teams worldwide. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment where your technical decisions have tangible impact, this role offers the scope, autonomy, and cross-functional reach to make that count.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain production application environments, ensuring stability, quality, and performance consistently meet agreed service levels.
  • Monitor applications continuously across the trading day, perform start-of-day health checks, execute same-day risk reconciliations, and coordinate regional handovers to maintain uninterrupted operations.
  • Assess the risk and business impact of production incidents, escalate issues to the appropriate technology and business teams in a timely manner, and ensure resolution within service level commitments.
  • Identify and implement improvements to application stability, efficiency, and effectiveness by leading or contributing to active support projects across these themes.
  • Partner with development and production support teams to define scope for complex application enhancements, prioritise bug fixes, and coordinate end-to-end release participation from testing through to deployment.
  • Identify security vulnerabilities and technology risks within the current environment, communicate their impact clearly, and ensure contingency plans are in place to maintain user availability.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and point of escalation for senior stakeholders, interfacing with internal technology groups, vendors, and business users to resolve issues and align on priorities.
  • Coach and mentor junior analysts, setting standards for technical documentation, operating procedures, and quality of delivery across the team.

Required qualifications & skills
  • 6 or more years of experience in application support, production systems management, or a closely related technical operations role.
  • Hands-on experience supporting applications built on cloud infrastructure, including microservices architectures and cloud-hosted database technologies.
  • Practical knowledge of messaging and event-streaming platforms such as Kafka or Solace, and experience supporting containerised application environments.
  • Working knowledge of active monitoring tools used to track application health and performance in production environments.
  • Ability to analyse and monitor IP network traffic, with a solid understanding of web technologies and how they interact within production systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead within a team setting, communicate complex technical information clearly to a range of stakeholders, and plan and organise workload across multiple concurrent priorities.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant technical discipline.

Beneficial skills & qualifications
  • Experience leading requirement-gathering efforts across multiple large-scale development projects running simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with storage and archiving procedures in enterprise production environments.
  • Background in post-implementation analysis and system design validation following application releases.
