What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be joining CIBC’s Enterprise Technology, Financial Crimes & Enterprise Risk Technology division, you’ll be at the heart of CIBC’s digital transformation, building easy, flexible, and personalized banking solutions to enhance client experience and change the way that people bank. As a Application Consultant you will be joining the Enterprise Anti-Money Laundering Technology – Global Screening Solutions team where you will be actively participate in developing, testing and supporting real-time sanctions screening shared service. You’re primary responsibility will be the design, development, testing and implementation of business rules to mitigate false-positive hits on payment transactions. Within a team of senior team members, you’ll broaden your technical skills and help build the bank of the future.

How You’ll Succeed
- Programming Skills - Develop, code and test computer programs for straightforward assignments. Review, analyze, and modify programming systems, including encoding, testing, and debugging.
- Systems Implementation - Conduct the technical design, development, and integration of cross functional, multi-platform application systems. And oversee operational activities, including issue management notification/communication, resolution, root cause determination), problem management, deviation management, and risk management.
- Planning and Coordination - Effectively interact with stakeholders, end users, business analysts, and technical resources to gather requirements and prepare design specifications as instructed by senior team members. You will also lead the effort estimation process for project or intake-driven requirements, soliciting the appropriate inputs, completing the required documentation and ensuring adequate reviews.
Who You Are

You must have 3+ years of experience as an Application Specialist, or in a similar role; Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, JavaScript); You have good experience with XML, XML Parsers, web services, specifically SOAP; You must have 3-5 years of experience working in WINDOWS, UNIX, LINUX environments; You are familiarity with Linux/Unix Commands, Shell scripting, Schedulers-Autosys, File Transfer, Feed hub; You have the knowledge of IBM WebSphere MQ with systems integration or messaging system experience; You must have the experience with SQL programming in Oracle, or similar. It's an asset if you understand real time and batch architectures; You have experience in application production support including logical thinking and troubleshooting skills. Nice-to-have skills: Source control tool GITHUB, etc. Fircosoft, AML and/or Compliance, tableau dashboards development; You have the ability to establish and build healthy working relations and partnerships with the business as well as peers and wide variety of stakeholders (Finance, Operations, Risk Management, Technology, etc.); Knowledge of major tasks, deliverables, formal methodologies and disciplines for delivering new or enhanced applications.
