Overview

Reporting to the Chief Economist & EVP Research, the Analyst will support Centurion's research function through market and industry analysis, data synthesis and the preparation of research output that informs Internal stakeholders, Investors, and Advisors. The role focuses on the substance of what the research team publishes: the analysis, insights, and commentary that shape Centurion's view of the market. A core objective is to embed AI tools into the research workflow to improve the quality, speed and depth of research output.

Responsibilities



Research and Analysis

The Analyst will conduct statistical and attribution analyses to generate insights into fund performance, investor behaviour and market dynamics. The role includes ongoing research into industry trends, macroeconomic conditions and comparable market activity to inform the Chief Economist's outlook and commentary. Data from internal systems and third-party sources will be synthesized into structured analysis for review by the Chief Economist, and the Analyst is expected to maintain a working knowledge of Canadian and North American real estate, capital markets and alternative investment data sources.

Research Output and Commentary

This role is responsible for drafting research notes, monthly fund commentary and industry updates for review and publication by the Chief Economist. The Analyst will contribute research, data, and drafting support to whitepapers and thought-leadership pieces authored by the research function, ensuring that the output is accurate, well-sourced, and consistent with the Chief Economist's editorial voice.

AI-Enabled Research

A core objective of the role is to identify, test and embed AI tools that improve research efficiency across market analysis, data synthesis, automation and report generation. The Analyst will document research workflows so that AI-assisted analysis is repeatable, auditable and consistent with sourcing standards, and will stay current on developments in AI applied to economic, real estate and investment research.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

The Analyst will work with Asset Management, Investor Administration and other internal teams to source data and validate analytical inputs and will respond to internal requests for research and analysis. Marketing handles translating research into investor- and advisor-facing materials. The role also partners with Compliance to ensure research output meets regulatory and internal standards for accuracy and sourcing.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of experience in a research or economics role, ideally within real estate, financial services or investment management.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including comfort with statistical analysis, attribution analysis and working with large datasets.
  • A strong writer who can produce clear, concise research prose.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply AI tools to analytical work, with practical experience embedding AI into research, data or reporting workflows, is a strong asset.
  • Comfortable working within a regulated environment and inside compliance review processes.
  • Post-secondary degree in economics, finance, statistics, data science or a related quantitative discipline. Progress toward a Masters, CFA, CBV or a comparable designation is an asset.
