Job Description

The Analyst, Investments (Canada) will be an integral Investment Team member focused on growth opportunities within Tricon’s purpose-built rental platform in Canada. The Analyst will work closely with other Investment Team members to screen, underwrite, negotiate, and execute new acquisitions, manage existing investments, and assist with corporate strategy initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following but are not limited to the job specifications contained herein. Additional duties or job functions that can be performed safely may be required as deemed necessary by supervisory personnel.

  • Provide essential support to the broader Investment Team through financial modeling, in-depth research, and analysis that boost our corporate growth, acquisition, and asset/portfolio management efforts

  • Play a pivotal role in building both internal and external presentations to aid in strategic decision making and build consensus among key stakeholders

  • Lead ad hoc analyses that guide decision making and portfolio growth initiatives

  • Monitor market and economic activity to develop investment theses and drive decisions

  • Support project and portfolio level asset management and preparing/reviewing reporting packages and other investment materials

  • Prepare quarterly and annual reports for existing investments and independently present quarterly asset reviews to senior management

  • Create presentations and financial analyses to assist with various corporate growth initiatives

  • Operate in entrepreneurial, high visibility teams with substantial individual responsibility, integrity, and significant exposure/accountability to all levels of senior management

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

  • Highly effective written and oral communication skills with a direct, professional communication style

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

  • Self-starter and “can-do” attitude with demonstrated ability to wear multiple hats and grow into various roles and responsibilities within the company over time

  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to think “outside the box”, and willingness to challenge the status quo

  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy

  • Capable of excelling in a high-paced work environment, showing resilience under pressure and making decisive choices

  • Inquisitive, with a willingness to learn and explore beyond traditional boundaries, constantly seeking to enhance knowledge and skills.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 1+ years of work experience in investment banking, private equity, management consulting, real estate investment management, or corporate finance/lending

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or other relevant degree
