Job Description:

Essential Job Functions:

  • Support test planning activities for initiatives of varying sizes and complexity.
  • Liaison with subject matter experts to understanding and translate business requirements into executable test scenarios.
  • Work with a team to determine the scope and approach for each testing phase of an initiative.
  • Work with a team to establish a testing timeline, along with the effort required to complete, for an initiative.
  • Work with a team to create a risk-based testing matrix for initiatives and/or applications, as needed.
  • Work with a team to keep regression test suites and automated test scripts updated for each code deployment.
  • Prepare step by step test scenarios to be executed by any member of the team.
  • Execute assigned test scenarios, and capture results.
  • Document defects when expected results for executed test scenarios are not met.
  • Participate in walkthroughs with vendors, clients and stakeholders.
  • Support production implementation verification activities and provide post-production implementation support.

Mandatory requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (i.e., Computer Science) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in the Canadian Life Insurance industry, performing Quality Assurance activities for Software Development and Testing on insurance client´s new business policies and underwriting.
  • Ingenium software experience is mandatory.
  • Experience with Sapiens IllustrationPro, ApplicationPro and UnderwritingPro is mandatory.
  • Experience of the Software Development Life Cycle, for both Waterfall and Agile with Scrum methodologies.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively with various teams as well as independently, as necessary.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage assignments from competing priorities with tight deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt to changes quickly.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with a broad range of audiences.
  • Development features and testing of those features.

Other Qualifications

  • Experience with Azure DevOps and JIRA.
  • Proficiency with usage of Microsoft products such as SharePoint, Teams, Excel and Word.
  • Life insurance certifications (LIMRA/LOMA).

Work Environment: 

  • All applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm Eastern Time.
  • This position is designated as hybrid. DXC Technology reserves the right to require your in-person attendance as determined by business needs. Toronto office location: 121 King Street, Suite No. 2130, West Toronto, M5H 3X7. Applicants must live within a commutable distance.
