About the RoleAs a Corporate Development Analyst, you will be a key member of Opendoor's Finance & Strategy team, supporting the evaluation and execution of strategic transactions including acquisitions, partnerships, and investments. You'll build financial models, conduct market research, and create materials that inform executive decision-making on inorganic growth opportunities.
This is a high-visibility role for someone early in their career who wants to apply rigorous financial analysis to real strategic decisions. You'll work directly with senior leadership on deals that shape Opendoor's future—from identifying targets and building valuation models to supporting due diligence and integration planning.
What You'll DoSupport Strategic Transactions
Build valuation models (DCF, comparable companies, precedent transactions) to evaluate potential acquisitions, partnerships, and strategic investments
Conduct financial due diligence on targets, including analysis of historical financials, unit economics, and key business drivers
Create investment memos and board materials that synthesize complex analyses into clear, actionable recommendations
Support deal execution by coordinating with Legal, Finance, and external advisors
Drive Market Intelligence
Conduct industry and competitive research to identify strategic opportunities and inform investment theses
Monitor market trends, emerging competitors, and potential acquisition targets in real estate, fintech, and adjacent sectors
Build and maintain databases tracking strategic opportunities and market intelligence
Ship AI-Powered Workflows
Use AI to accelerate financial modeling, scenario analysis, and market research
Leverage AI tools to synthesize large volumes of information from public filings, news, and industry reports
Pioneer new AI applications in corporate development and help scale best practices across the team
At least 2-4 years of experience in equity research (sell-side or buy-side), investment banking, corporate development, and/or a highly analytical finance role
Strong financial modeling skills, including DCF valuation, trading comps, and transaction comps—you can build a model from scratch and pressure-test assumptions
Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly develop informed views on companies, markets, and strategic opportunities
AI-native mindset—you actively use AI to accelerate analysis and improve the quality of your work
Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to distill complex analyses into clear narratives for executive audiences
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment
Self-starter mentality—you take initiative, work independently, and thrive with ambiguity
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field
Strong Excel/Google Sheet user with hands-on experience with SQL, Python and/or other data analytics tools/languages
Knowledge of NetSuite and GAAP
Nice to have:
CFA charter holder or CFA candidate
Experience covering technology, real estate, or financial services sectors
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The pay range for this position in Toronto, Ontario, Canada is C$82,000.00 - C$103,000.00 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on your qualifications, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
