This is an in-person role in the Toronto office. Candidates must be based within a 50-mile commuting distance of the office (240 Richmond Street W) and able to be physically present in the office 4 days a week.

About the Role

As a Corporate Development Analyst, you will be a key member of Opendoor's Finance & Strategy team, supporting the evaluation and execution of strategic transactions including acquisitions, partnerships, and investments. You'll build financial models, conduct market research, and create materials that inform executive decision-making on inorganic growth opportunities.

This is a high-visibility role for someone early in their career who wants to apply rigorous financial analysis to real strategic decisions. You'll work directly with senior leadership on deals that shape Opendoor's future—from identifying targets and building valuation models to supporting due diligence and integration planning.

What You'll Do

Support Strategic Transactions

  • Build valuation models (DCF, comparable companies, precedent transactions) to evaluate potential acquisitions, partnerships, and strategic investments

  • Conduct financial due diligence on targets, including analysis of historical financials, unit economics, and key business drivers

  • Create investment memos and board materials that synthesize complex analyses into clear, actionable recommendations

  • Support deal execution by coordinating with Legal, Finance, and external advisors

Drive Market Intelligence

  • Conduct industry and competitive research to identify strategic opportunities and inform investment theses

  • Monitor market trends, emerging competitors, and potential acquisition targets in real estate, fintech, and adjacent sectors

  • Build and maintain databases tracking strategic opportunities and market intelligence

Ship AI-Powered Workflows

  • Use AI to accelerate financial modeling, scenario analysis, and market research

  • Leverage AI tools to synthesize large volumes of information from public filings, news, and industry reports

  • Pioneer new AI applications in corporate development and help scale best practices across the team

What You'll Bring
  • At least 2-4 years of experience in equity research (sell-side or buy-side), investment banking, corporate development, and/or a highly analytical finance role

  • Strong financial modeling skills, including DCF valuation, trading comps, and transaction comps—you can build a model from scratch and pressure-test assumptions

  • Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly develop informed views on companies, markets, and strategic opportunities

  • AI-native mindset—you actively use AI to accelerate analysis and improve the quality of your work

  • Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to distill complex analyses into clear narratives for executive audiences

  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment

  • Self-starter mentality—you take initiative, work independently, and thrive with ambiguity

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field

  • Strong Excel/Google Sheet user with hands-on experience with SQL, Python and/or other data analytics tools/languages

  • Knowledge of NetSuite and GAAP

Nice to have:

  • CFA charter holder or CFA candidate

  • Experience covering technology, real estate, or financial services sectors
