Your role as an AI Integration Developer
As an AI Integration Developer in the Provider Stream group, you will be part of the team responsible for bridging advanced automation technologies with our clinical operations. The mission is to build the "Intelligent Provider" infrastructure—developing the systems that eliminate administrative burden and enhance clinical decision-making.
This role is a high-impact hybrid of AI and Backend Engineering. Responsibilities of this role include building secure, scalable pipelines that allow us to leverage the best existing solutions in a high-stakes medical environment. You will ensure that every automation is grounded, validated, and production-ready.
What you'll be doing
- Scalable Backend Architecture: Design and maintain high-concurrency microservices and APIs that serve as the backbone for provider-facing automation tools.
- Systems Integration: Architect robust "Agentic" workflows and integration layers to connect internal clinical data with external reasoning engines and automation services.
- Infrastructure & DevOps: Manage the deployment, scaling, and reliability of integration services using containerization, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Validation Frameworks: Build automated testing and evaluation pipelines to measure the accuracy, safety, and reliability of system outputs before they reach clinicians.
- Security & Privacy: Implement rigorous data-masking and secure transmission protocols to ensure all integrations meet PHI (Protected Health Information) standards.
- Observability: Develop deep monitoring and tracing for integrated systems to track performance, latency, and cost-efficiency.
We'd love to hear from you if you have
- Strong Backend Core: 5+ years of experience in Python (FastAPI/Django) or similar languages, with a mastery of distributed systems and event-driven architecture.
- DevOps Expertise: Proven experience with AWS (Bedrock, Lambda, ECS), Terraform, and Kubernetes to ensure system scalability and high availability.
- Integration Experience: Practical knowledge of connecting disparate systems via REST/gRPC, managing rate-limits, and handling asynchronous task queues (e.g., Celery, Redis).
- Validation & Quality Mindset: Experience building "Evaluation" systems—you believe in data-driven validation over manual "vibes-based" testing.
- Security-First Approach: Deep understanding of securing cloud environments and handling sensitive data in a regulated industry (SOC2, HIPAA, or PIPEDA).
- Bilingualism: Essential for validating and troubleshooting system outputs that serve both our French and English clinical staff.
Please note that as we serve customers across Canada, bilingualism is essential for this position. You may be required to communicate in French and English.
