AI Automation Engineer

Department Overview

TD Information Security covers the development and management of security strategies, policies and programs to assess, prioritize, and mitigate business risk with technology controls. Priorities include mitigating and managing cyber security threats, ensuring systems availability, aligning with global regulatory risk and compliance requirements, managing systems and network complexity, and partnering with businesses for better technology delivery by providing advice on technology controls.

About the team:

TD Engineering covers a broad range of exercises and initiatives including requirements gathering, design specification, industry analysis, vendor engagement and analysis, software development, project management, financial management, test plans and execution, and operational standards implementation. Our highly-coveted Engineers are interspersed amongst many areas of focus: innovation, design, execution, maintenance, strategy, portfolio management. The team focuses on implementing advanced process automation and security tooling leveraging cutting-edge technologies to improve efficiency, reduce risk and cost in the bank's industry-leading capability to protect its customers and employees.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build and operate intelligent automation solutions that combine artificial intelligence with scalable, reliable automation frameworks.
  • Develop and deploy Machine Learning model inference pipelines to production, perform end-to-end integration testing
  • Integrate AI/ML models, LLMs and decision logic into production-grade workflows to reduce manual effort, improve accuracy and enable faster, more consistent outcomes
  • Support monitoring and optimization of model performance, remediate failures and drifts in production environments
  • Perform data analysis, data preprocessing and feature engineering on complex and large datasets for machine learning models
  • Build reusable automation components and services to accelerate adoption across multiple teams
  • Foster a fast-paced delivery culture to build high-quality applications and automation solutions
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders on team strategy, roadmap and ensure continuous alignment with business objectives
  • Effectively communicate plans, progress and escalations on key programs to various audiences, including executive audiences
  • Coach the team on both technical and soft skills to uplift team's maturity and support career development
  • Demonstrate passion and commitment on leveraging new technologies and practices in advanced automation
  • Apply responsible AI principles, security controls and access management in automation solutions
  • Adhere to policies, procedures and control standards

Job Qualifications:

  • BSc+ in computer science or math
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience including architecting, designing and/or programming
  • 2+ years of experience building Machine Learning production systems
  • Expert in Python coding, including experience with PySpark, PyTorch, TensorFlow, LangChain and/or Scikit-Learn
  • Experience with developing MLOps CI/CD pipelines for deploying AI/ML models
  • Experience with integrations with MS CoPilot, OpenAI or other LLMs
  • Solid knowledge of applied Machine Learning, Deep Learning and Large Language Models
  • Experience with RAG, Knowledge Graph, and LLM fine tuning and developing AI Agents
  • Expertise with API integrations (RESTful and SOAP web services, JSON/XML)
  • Knowledge of modern digital architecture (cloud, container, messaging and microservices)
  • Experience working in the information security field is a plus
