Job Description
Title : Agriculture Assistant
Location : Leamington, Ontario Canada
Role:
The Agriculture Assistant is responsible for supporting activities of the Heinz Seed breeding program located in Leamington Ontario, including but not limited to seeding, transplanting, plot upkeep, field sampling/data collection, seed harvesting, hybrid crossing and other seasonal and general duties in the Leamington winter greenhouse.
Benefits:

• $22.00 CAD Hourly
• Paid holidays

Responsibilities:

• Perform greenhouse crop upkeep task including pruning, clipping, and tying up of plants.
• Assist in tomato hybrid crossing in the greenhouse and field
• Assist in seasonal operational tasks, such as seeding, transplanting, weed control, picking tomatoes for testing and seed data collection.
• Assist in special projects as needed

Qualifications:

• High school diploma
• Agriculture experience is an asset
• Computer skills including a knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Ability to analyze, solve problems, organize, communicate effectively, perform duties as requested and work as a team are required in this position.
• Possess an extreme level of detail and accuracy
• Ability to work outdoors for extended periods of time under different weather conditions.
• Must have valid driver's license (full license)
• Legally eligible to work in Canada
