What you’ll accomplish with usAs an Actuarial Co-op Student, you’ll be at the core of our mission. Here are the main responsibilities:
  • Participate in month-end and quarter-end valuation activities, including running reserves and updating spreadsheets for earnings analysis.
  • Conduct actuarial analyses and assist with gains and losses reviews.
  • Support special projects such as profitability studies and trend analysis.
  • Assist with the production of various reports by gathering and organizing required information.
  • Respond to data requests and provide technical support to actuarial analysts and advisors.
What could accelerate your success in this roleWe’re looking for someone who:
  • Is known for their strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Stands out for their attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in Excel, Access, Python, and R (GLMs, tidyverse).
  • Is recognized for their ability to manipulate large data sets and familiarity with SQL.
  • Has previous office experience and exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Is currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in actuarial science.
  • Asset: Knowledge of IFRS 17 and/or AXIS.
  • Availability: Full-time for 8 months, flexible start date.

The typical hiring range for this position is between $30.00 and $34.00 CAD per hour; the base salary offered may vary depending on knowledge, skills, years of experience, and internal equity related to the role.
