Accounting Analyst

Company Description

The Accounting Analyst will be a member of the RBCD finance team based out of the Toronto Office. The position will be directly responsible for the overall AR & Treasury component within RBCD along with the relationship management and the end-to-end process involving the Sub Distributors of RBCD. Furthermore, this position will be responsible to support receivables management, relationship management within the company and with customers, payment application, delivering on the departments KPIs that are measured to meet the goals of the team and the company.

Job Description

TREASURY (RBCD)(~25%)

Reconcile the end-to-end data flow through systems i.e. HRC, S4, SAP and Bank statement.

Support in reconciling the TD bank account on a weekly basis for submission to the RBCD Accounting Manager.

Posting into SAP on a monthly basis all applicable journal entries (accruals, bank fees, etc).

Co-ordination & follow-up with the RBCD office managers for any unapplied payments, untraceable deposits in bank and issues facing customer collections.

Support any treasury initiatives that will help improve collections, reduce DSO, and streamline our treasury processes.

AR MANAGEMENT (CUSTOMERS AND SUB DISTRIBUTORS) (RBCD)(~60%)

Ensure data accuracy in the system related to customer profile, terms, classification and other details by performing a monthly review and making corrections as needed.

Ensure all invoices related to customers and distributors are collected in line with the credit terms.

Regular follow up to ensure collection on overdue invoices.

Making sure that the KPIs assigned are met or exceeded.

Support the Accounting Manager in various projects and preparation of regular and ad hoc reports.

Develop strong relationship and partnership with internal partners and customers / sub distributors.

Co-ordinate and present financial status with sub distributors at recurring intervals (eg quarterly).

Ensure all assigned tasks are completed accurately within the assigned deadlines.

Work closely with our shared service center in Denver in terms of AR/Collections, credit control, and Master Data.

Follow up regularly on all deductions and overdue invoices and then file claims as needed and conclude closure of overdue invoices.

GENERAL ACCOUNTING (RBCD)(~15%)

Handle inquires from field staff, vendors, and third-party partners by investigating and interpreting data if needed.

Perform selected monthly Account Reconciliations.

Prepare and Post Monthly Journal Vouchers in SAP (permanent, accruals).

Maintain records and files including master data.

Assisting with the Month End Close procedures.

Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures.

Analyzes information and options by developing spreadsheet reports; verifying information.

Provide support to the team with all audits.

Ad Hoc tasks as needed.

Qualifications

3+ years in an accounting environment covering duties listed above, preferably in AR environment and dealing with customer collections.

Proficiency in MS excel, MS Word, PowerPoint.

HRC/SAP/S4/BI experience is an asset.

Working knowledge of System Applications noted below.

Post-Secondary Education in Accounting or Finance.
