About Marble

Marble is the authorization layer for protected information. The world's most valuable data, from health records to insurance, identity, and legal information, can't be scraped, bought, or moved. It's regulated, it demands consent, and it stays locked behind portals, paper, and legacy systems. Marble is the infrastructure that lets businesses, institutions, and individuals securely access, permission, and use that data, turning trapped records into the compliant, structured information behind high-stakes decisions.

Today, our platform powers two products: Medchart, the medical record request and release platform built on patient consent, and Settlit, which gives US personal injury and mass-tort law firms fast, compliant access to the health and claims data their cases depend on. We started with health and legal, and we're building toward the same consent-driven network across every regulated industry.

The Opportunity

We're hiring an Accountant to own day-to-day bookkeeping, reconciliations, and AR/AP across our Canadian and US operations. Reporting to our Finance Manager, you'll take real ownership from day one - running the processes that give the whole company a faster, more accurate month-end close and better data to make decisions. As you grow, so does the role: you'll build out our reporting capabilities and take on end-to-end ownership of our US accounting.

What you'll do

    • Run month-end bookkeeping, reconciliations, and invoicing for both Canada and the US on a consistent monthly cadence.
    • Own weekly general ledger entries and monthly bank, credit card, and GL reconciliations.
    • Own accounts receivable - invoice customers promptly and follow up on outstanding balances to keep receivables current.
    • Own accounts payable - process and coordinate vendor invoice payments on schedule.
    • Improve our reporting capabilities so company-wide reporting gets faster and sharper.
    • Grow into full end-to-end ownership of our US accounting processes.

What you bring

    • 2+ years of experience as an accountant, bookkeeper, or in a similar accounting role.
    • Experience with the full-cycle accounting process.
    • Extensive experience with data entry and accurate record-keeping.
    • Strong attention to detail and the ability to problem-solve - you catch discrepancies and resolve them independently.
    • Clear written and verbal communication, and the ability to work independently to tight deadlines.

Bonus points if you have

    • Experience with QuickBooks Online.
    • Exposure to ADP (Canada) or Gusto (US) payroll.
    • Familiarity with US GAAP.
    • Experience with Canadian or US income tax and sales tax filings.
    • A diploma or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Where you'll work

This is a hybrid role based in the Greater Toronto Area, with one day per week in our office at Richmond and Spadina in downtown Toronto.

Why Marble

  • Real ownership, fast - you'll run core finance processes yourself, not a slice of someone else's.
  • A team small enough that your work is visible, and strong enough that you'll learn from great people from day one.
  • Room to grow - from bookkeeping into reporting, US accounting, and beyond as the company scales.
  • Competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and the flexibility of a modern hybrid team

Note:  Successful candidates will be asked to undergo a background check.

Marble is proud to be a diverse and equal opportunity employer and as such does not discriminate on the basis of race, colour, religion, sex, national origins, age, sexual orientation, disability, or any other characteristic protected by applicable laws. Selection decisions are solely based on job-related factors.

Please note, you will be asked to complete the Plum Discovery Survey, a behavioural assessment provided by our partner, Plum, after submitting your application. After completing the assessment, you will receive your personalized Plum Profile that reveals your Plum Talents, so you can gain a greater understanding of your natural strengths and what makes you, you! You will be provided with a link to complete this survey once you have submitted your application.

Existing Vacancy Disclosure: This posting is for an existing vacancy.

Compensation: The base salary range for this role is $70,000 – $85,000 CAD, depending on experience and qualifications.
