We are looking for Account Executives to be based in our Waterloo Office

The Account Executive, GovStack, is responsible for driving new logo growth and expansion within municipal governments and public sector organizations across an assigned territory. This role focuses on selling GovStack’ s SaaS platform, designed to modernize digital citizen experience, streamline internal workflows, and improve service delivery for local governments.

The Account Executive builds a pipeline through proactive prospecting, executive outreach, industry events, referrals, and collaboration with BDR and marketing teams. They lead consultative discovery conversations with CAOs, City Managers, Clerks, Communications leaders, IT Directors, and other municipal stakeholders, positioning GovStack as a strategic digital partner.

This individual operates as a trusted advisor, guiding prospects through complex public sector buying cycles that often include budget approvals, council alignment, RFI and RFP processes, and formal procurement frameworks. The Account Executive owns the full sales cycle from initial engagement through contract execution and transition to implementation.

Working with an energetic and high-performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in: 

  • Drive new logo acquisition for GovStack within an assigned geographic territory.
  • Sell SaaS solutions that improve digital citizen engagement, content management, and internal service delivery for municipalities. 
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets.
  • Build and manage a qualified pipeline aligned to territory growth expectations 
  • Lead consultative discovery sessions focused on measurable business outcomes such as improved citizen experience, operational efficiency, accessibility compliance, and digital modernization 
  • Deliver tailored product demonstrations aligned to municipal use cases and strategic initiatives 
  • Manage end to end sales cycles including stakeholder mapping, RFI and RFP responses, proposal development, negotiation, and contract execution 
  • Navigate formal public sector procurement processes and funding cycles 
  • Partner closely with BDR, Marketing, Product, and Implementation teams to ensure alignment between customer needs and solution design 
  • Maintain accurate forecasting and pipeline hygiene within CRM 
  • Represent GovStack at municipal conferences, industry associations, and regional government events

What you will bring to the Team:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • 5+ years of enterprise SaaS sales experience, ideally selling to municipalities or broader public sector organizations
  • Demonstrated success closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals with sales cycles ranging from six to twelve months 
  • Experience navigating RFI and RFP processes within government environments
  • Strong executive presence and ability to engage senior municipal leaders, including City Managers, CAOs, Directors, and IT leaders
  • Proven ability to articulate business value and measurable outcomes, not just product features
  • Strong negotiation skills and comfort working within structured procurement and legal frameworks
  • High level of organization and discipline in territory planning and pipeline management

Please note: 

The salary range for this position is $67,000K - $111,625K.  

The posted salary range represents the expected hiring range for GHD locations in its major city centres. Ranges may vary for positions in other locations. At GHD, base salary is determined by your skills, experience, qualifications, and work location.
