Roles & Responsibilities

Our team is getting busier and we're adding new equipment to help us keep up, specifically a state of the art SEI Roll to Roll Laser Cutter. We are hiring for this new position to help us utilize the new machine and improve our ability to keep up with large orders, especially when volume fluctuates. This role will appeal to someone who has the flexibility to work their 40 hours per week on either the day or evening shift (see below for times) depending on the flow of orders.

Production Operations 

  • Operation of the laser cutter(s), and NITA label applicator following standard operating procedures, 
  • Experience with roll-to-roll digital laser cutters such as ABG Digilase, SEI Labelmaster, Spartanics Roll Fed laser cutter,
  • Work within the Production Schedule as required,
  • Optimize the output of machines by planning the workload while looking for opportunities to maximize output and minimize downtime,
  • Monitor consumption of consumables and replenish when necessary,
  • Offer input on orders to help minimize waste,
  • Function independently as well as have the ability to interact with the other members of the team,
  • Ensure quality is maintained at all times for finished products by adhering to SOPs,
  • Assist with special projects as needed.

Maintenance Management 

  • Assist with preventative maintenance as required,
  • Keep track of downtime and issues on production equipment utilizing the Technical Support Request form, escalate as needed,
  • Assist Team Lead and Production Manager to manage spare parts and inventory to ensure that equipment uptime is maintained,
  • Assist in the management of tools inventory to ensure that the tools are easily retrievable, trackable, and utilized as needed.

Requirements

  • Available to work either of the following shifts any day of the week from Monday to Sunday,
    • Shift 1: 8:00am-4:00pm
    • Shift 2; 4:00pm-12:00am and
    • Flexible to take on potential overtime when required.
  • Has education in the Graphic Arts and/or Printing field,
  • Has 1-2 years of experience in the print industry,
  • Has strong written and verbal communication skills and active listening skills,
  • Able to lift 50 lb material roll and stand for the majority of shift,
  • Has a high proficiency in MAC/Windows operating system,
  • Has knowledge of any print Digital Front End software (bonus)
  • eg. Roland VersaWorks, EFI Fiery, Xeikon X-800,etc

Management will ensure employees are provided with job specific Environmental, Health & Safety information, training and also ensure employees follow workplace Health & Safety policies and procedures.
