What is the opportunity?

We’re thrilled to offer a 4-month summer opportunity to join our team in a role related to Banking Operations & Strategy Analysis. As a Client Intelligence & Power BI Development Intern, you will support the development and execution of strategic initiatives, operational improvements, and client engagement activities for the RBCx Banking team. You will conduct in-depth research, analyze data, create reports and dashboards, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business development, improve workflows, and enhance client experiences. This role is ideal for someone with strong data analytical skills, a strategic mindset, and a passion for innovation.

What will you do?

  • Build and maintain data models, dashboards, and reports using tools like Power BI to provide actionable insights for decision-making.
  • Conduct research and analysis on market trends, customer segments, and industry opportunities to inform business strategies.
  • Identify and analyze high-potential opportunities, such as early-stage startups, to support business development and client outreach.
  • Support the planning and execution of strategic initiatives, market activations, and ecosystem engagement events.
  • Assist in the development of training materials and employee engagement programs to enhance team performance.
  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of operational and strategic initiatives.
  • Provide project management support for priority initiatives, including portfolio alignment and client intelligence development.

Must-Have:

  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to identify trends and provide actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Excel).
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Project management and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Interest in financial services, banking operations, and business development, with a willingness to learn and develop knowledge in these areas.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Growth mindset and adaptability to new challenges.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Interest in technology, innovation, and emerging industries (e.g., startups, venture capital, and tech ecosystems).
  • Familiarity with banking processes, compliance, and client engagement strategies.
  • Experience with process improvement and operational optimization.
  • Proficiency in creating presentations and reports for stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of early-stage startups, venture capital, or the tech ecosystem.

Please note: This posting is for a 4-months Summer 2026 Student placement with a start date of May 2026, and end date of August 2026. In order to be eligible for this 4-months Student position, you must either:

  • Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of August 2026 ; or
  • If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in August 2026), you must require the full 4-months work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.
