Do you enjoy experimenting with groundbreaking technology? If so, be prepared to love your job with us! We are looking for an intern to develop and optimize an agentic system to interact with large scale datasets, integrate with third-party APIs and execute complex workflows. You’ll be working closely with software and experimental teams to prototype, test, and evaluate the system.
The opportunity:
Design, implement and test an agentic system that can process large volumes of unstructured data, and integrate with external APIs and tools.
Develop metrics and tools to monitor and evaluate agent performance.
Collaborate with internal customers to iterate on agentic capabilities.
Deliver high-quality code and actively participate in testing and validation.
Keep accurate and timely records of design decisions, dependencies, findings and progress.
Present work to the team at the end of the internship.
Who You Are:
Currently pursuing a master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related scientific field.
Strong knowledge of machine learning and deep learning fundamentals; highly skilled in Python.
Hands-on experience with AI/ML libraries (e.g., LangChain, OpenAI API, Hugging Face, PyTorch) and familiarity with API development, backend services, and deployment pipelines.
Understanding of agent-based modeling, LLMs, RAG, vector databases, and prompt engineering; experience building applications with LLMs or generative AI models.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication, writing, and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal guidance; familiarity with cloud and HPC infrastructure is helpful.
Additional Information:
Duration: 4 months, with an approximate start date in September 2025.
Modality: Full Time (35 hours per week) Hybrid (majority of days on - site is required)
Location: Mississauga Campus.
This position is not eligible for relocation support.
