Own the clean-sheet design and production release of Fluidstack’s metal-clad medium-voltage switchgear platform. Lead engineers through ratings definition, protection and IED integration, racking and interlock architecture, type testing, compliance, and redesign cycles. Manage high-power laboratory campaigns covering short-circuit, internal arc, BIL, and temperature-rise testing, while driving the platform from concept through design freeze and production.

Own control architecture for rotating machinery and test rigs, including compressors, motor drives, expansion turbines, and thermofluid loops. Develop safety interlocks, fault handling, speed-based capacity control, and hardware-in-the-loop validation. Tune controls on live machines, investigate model-to-plant discrepancies, integrate production chillers with site BMS and plant systems, and document systems for operations teams.

Own compressor testing from test-cell commissioning through validated performance mapping. Responsibilities include specifying test cells and instrumentation, defining measurement chains and uncertainty budgets, writing test plans and safety interlocks, analyzing data, supporting design changes, and conducting failure investigations. The role focuses on high-pressure, high-speed rotating machinery, thermofluids, refrigeration performance, and data acquisition.

Owns end-to-end aerodynamic and mechanical design of high-speed turbomachinery, including centrifugal compressors, expansion turbines, rotordynamics, magnetic bearing integration, stress analysis, and machine architecture. The engineer will take designs from mean-line analysis and CFD through geometry release, build, test-stand validation, performance-map analysis, and iterative redesign. Work spans advanced cooling systems, novel working fluids, high-speed motor-driven machines, and rapid development from concept to production.

Own the electrical design and integration of high-power machines, including DC buses, inverters, motor drives, magnetic-bearing amplifiers, test-cell power systems, and load banks. Lead EMC, harmonics, bearing-current, insulation, arc-flash, and electrical-safety work through installation and commissioning. Develop safe work practices for energized equipment and bring first-of-a-kind systems to full-rating operation.

Own long-lead procurement for compressor programs, qualify and dual-source critical vendors, support make-versus-buy decisions, and align prototype purchasing with production ramp needs. Partner closely with engineering to influence designs for supply availability, manage changing prototype requirements, protect program schedules, and develop resilient supplier relationships across motors, bearings, forgings, castings, pressure vessels, and instrumentation.

Lead technical direction for compute qualification, own hardest hardware qualifications (first silicon, new platforms), build test automation and data pipelines, perform root-cause failure analysis, mentor engineers, and represent the lab to vendors and fleet stakeholders.

Architect the solid-state transformer platform for gigawatt-scale AI data centers. Select converter topologies and semiconductor strategies, lead power electronics, magnetics, and controls engineers through hardware development, define MVDC system interfaces, create prototype roadmaps, evaluate build-versus-partner options, and develop vendor, laboratory, and university partnerships. Own technical trade-offs involving efficiency, redundancy, manufacturability, device availability, and MW-scale system integration.

Lead the architecture and validation of medium-voltage DC distribution systems for gigawatt-scale AI campuses. Own EMT modeling, fault and stability analysis, grounding, protection philosophy, safety cases, and technical interfaces with SST and facility electrical teams. Lead the DC Systems team, establish initial deliverables, guide vendor strategy for converters and DC components, and evaluate ecosystem and standards gaps.

Own hardware new product introduction programs from kickoff through rate production for racks, gear, or power conversion products. Manage schedules, stage gates, risks, dependencies, design changes, long-lead components, readiness reviews, and cross-functional decisions across engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and delivery. The role requires technical judgment, disciplined escalation, and the ability to make difficult scope, schedule, and recovery decisions under significant schedule pressure.

Own the architecture and end-to-end product definition of 150kW-class liquid-cooled AI compute racks. Lead electrical, mechanical, thermal, and integration engineers; define power, cooling, interconnect, structural, weight, serviceability, and facility interfaces; conduct rigorous design reviews; and align rack roadmaps with accelerator vendors and data center architecture.

Run BIM production for data center sites, including federated model management, clash detection, version control, issue tracking, drawing extraction, prefab packages, and as-built updates. Coordinate consultant uploads, lead weekly clash cycles, verify resolutions, and produce field deliverables. The role requires fast, disciplined Revit and Navisworks production on large MEP-heavy projects. Experience with ACC, BIM 360, fabrication-level modeling, Dynamo, scripting, or point cloud workflows is beneficial.

Design, deploy, and standardize SCADA architecture for power, cooling, and mechanical systems across large data center sites. Integrate field device telemetry and protocols into a unified platform, build tag databases, HMI screens, and alarm logic, validate signals during commissioning, and produce clear configuration and point documentation for repeatable deployments.

Own and run the release process from engineering to production: manage drawings, BOMs, ECOs/ECNs, and revision control. Ensure PLM/ERP/MES sync and BOM integrity, gate release readiness with DFM and tolerance checks, and communicate changes across design, supply chain, quality, and production to prevent builds to stale revisions.

Design and develop the mechanical aspects of data-center robotics including end effectors, docking, and robot-plant interfaces. Rapidly prototype, test to failure, instrument trials, and productionize hardware with DFM, reliability, and spare strategies while collaborating closely with controls and software teams.

Design and implement demand management control logic that flexes large IT and facility loads against grid signals and prices, integrate with utility and market signals, validate strategies in simulation, and deploy settlement-grade, fleet-wide control strategies without impacting SLAs.

Engineer a virtualized PLC platform: port and validate control applications to software runtimes while preserving determinism and safety; build test harnesses to prove virtual controls against hardware behavior; define reference architecture for networking, redundancy, and failover; document control narratives for engineers and operators.

Design, program, and configure BMS controls for mechanical and electrical plant. Build sequences, point lists, and graphics; integrate chillers, CDUs, power monitoring, and third-party equipment over BACnet/Modbus. Commission systems, diagnose failures, and version and document logic for maintainability.

Engineer mechanical demand flexibility for data center cooling: model thermal inertia and headroom per site, design setpoint/staging/storage strategies, validate models via instrumented field tests, quantify operating risk in degrees/minutes/margins, and collaborate with controls engineers.
