Lead end-to-end AI deployments for portfolio-company customers, from opportunity discovery and solution design through pricing, sales, delivery, adoption, and expansion. The HR Business Partner will lead HR strategy and People Operations across Beacon and its acquired companies. Responsibilities include workforce and talent planning, executive and manager coaching, employee relations, performance and compensation programs, onboarding and offboarding, HR systems and vendor oversight, workforce data integrity, compliance controls, and organizational change. The role partners with senior leadership to build scalable people processes across a fast-growing, distributed technology organization.

Own product outcomes across 2–5 portfolio companies, leading planning, roadmaps, prioritization, customer discovery, sprint execution, launches, and stakeholder alignment. The role involves shipping software directly, coaching product teams, and creating reusable playbooks across companies and verticals. As scope grows, the Product Lead may hire and manage PMs and own product strategy across an industry segment.

Own Beacon’s recruiting operations infrastructure, including Ashby configuration, workflows, integrations, data hygiene, reporting, process design, automation, coordination, and candidate experience. Build scalable recruiting systems across corporate and portfolio companies, partner on headcount planning and offers, and establish repeatable processes from scratch in a fast-moving, multi-entity environment.

Source and evaluate vertical-market software acquisition targets, conduct founder outreach, build long-term relationships, maintain the deal pipeline, analyze financial and operational data, and support due diligence, negotiations, and deal execution with M&A and leadership teams.

Lead growth initiatives across Beacon’s portfolio companies by identifying, prioritizing, and executing revenue-driving experiments. Source and build proactive pipelines for engineering and product talent across Beacon’s portfolio. Develop multi-channel sourcing strategies, conduct personalized outreach, calibrate candidates with recruiters and hiring managers, track sourcing metrics, maintain accurate ATS records, and monitor competitive talent markets. The role requires technical sourcing experience, strong written communication, proficiency with LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search, sourcing platforms, and the ability to engage technical candidates credibly.

Own the tax function across Canadian and U.S. portfolio companies, including corporate income tax, indirect tax, provisions, deferred tax, compliance calendars, and cross-border matters. Lead the ASPE-to-IFRS conversion tax workstream, support M&A and transaction tax activities, manage external tax advisors, and partner with finance leadership to build scalable tax processes and controls.

Lead end-to-end M&A execution, including sourcing, underwriting, valuation, financial modeling, diligence, investment memorandums, and acquisition integration. Build relationships with founders, owners, advisors, and bankers while collaborating with investment, executive, technology, legal, HR, tax, and value creation teams. Support portfolio companies and help develop Beacon’s AI-enabled M&A tools and technology platform.

Lead post-close legal integration for acquired companies, including corporate governance cleanup, diligence follow-up, entity registrations, minute book management, compliance tracking, risk escalation, contract and records management, and integration workflow development. Coordinate with legal, M&A, integration teams, registered agents, and external counsel across Canadian and U.S. jurisdictions. Maintain project plans, dashboards, templates, and post-close trackers while using AI tools to improve legal workflows.

Own acquisition origination across defined software verticals by sourcing opportunities, building founder relationships, evaluating financial and operational data, and managing the deal pipeline. Collaborate with M&A and leadership teams throughout diligence and execution. The role requires independently identifying acquisition opportunities, assessing software businesses and value-creation potential, and communicating findings to underwriting teams.

Lead full-cycle recruiting for Beacon and its portfolio companies across finance, sales, marketing, operations, HR, and customer success. Manage sourcing, stakeholder partnerships, candidate evaluation, compensation negotiations, offers, and recruiting operations across multiple entities. Build hiring plans, adapt quickly to unfamiliar functions and industries, maintain rigorous pipelines in Ashby, and support employer brand development.

Own full-cycle technical recruiting across engineering, product, and related functions for Beacon and its portfolio companies. Partner with technical leaders on hiring strategy, source candidates through traditional and creative channels, manage recruiting operations in Ashby, close offers, and strengthen the employer brand. The role requires recruiting senior engineering talent in fast-paced, high-growth environments across markets including Toronto, San Francisco, and New York.

Own end-to-end acquisition migrations onto Beacon’s standardized go-to-market stack. Manage discovery, planning, CRM and support-ticketing builds, data migration, training, timelines, dependencies, risks, contractors, stakeholders, and go-live quality across concurrent projects. Improve migration playbooks, checklists, and handoffs to make delivery faster and more predictable. The role requires strong communication, judgment under ambiguity, high-level GTM systems knowledge, and hands-on project leadership.

Lead end-to-end M&A activities, including sourcing, underwriting, financial modeling, diligence, transaction execution, founder relationship management, and post-acquisition integration. Present acquisition recommendations to leadership, help shape investment strategy and capital allocation, support portfolio companies, and contribute to building Beacon’s AI-powered M&A tools and software platform.

Oversee accounting operations, close processes, consolidations, reporting, controls, and reconciliations across 10–15 portfolio companies. Manage outsourced accounting teams, establish workflows and review controls, support audits, and integrate acquisitions into Beacon’s accounting systems. Partner with FP&A, Finance Systems, Operations, and Corporate Finance on reporting, process improvements, cash flow management, and scalable accounting structures.

Lead customer ERP implementation readiness, role-based training, workshops, curriculum development, testing, go-live preparation, and post-go-live support. Translate accounting, procurement, inventory, supply chain, and manufacturing workflows into practical system-based processes. Track user readiness, coordinate stakeholders, identify risks, support adoption, and improve reusable training resources and implementation methods.

Lead a portfolio company’s software engineering function by writing production code, modernizing its software development lifecycle, coaching engineers, setting the product roadmap with the GM, and implementing AI-enabled development and product capabilities. The role requires rapidly adapting to varied technology stacks, improving legacy systems without rewrites, and operating independently while collaborating directly with operators and customers.
