The ideal candidate has extensive experience with Linux system administration, environment configuration, and shell scripting, along with a proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues under pressure. This role is essential in maintaining the stability, scalability, and reliability of our backend systems and environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain Linux-based environments (Red Hat,) across development, staging, and production systems.

  • Configure and manage system services, network layers, and user access, ensuring consistent and secure operations.

  • Develop and maintain automation and configuration scripts (Bash, Python, or Perl) for provisioning, monitoring, and maintenance.

  • Perform advanced troubleshooting of infrastructure, configuration, and performance issues — from network bottlenecks and kernel tuning to service failures.

  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) sessions to identify and prevent recurring issues.

  • Manage server configurations, apply system patches, and oversee version upgrades to maintain reliability and compliance.

  • Set up and optimize development, test, and production environments to ensure consistency across teams.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with DevOps, Application, and Security teams to streamline deployment processes and minimize downtime.

  • Maintain and improve monitoring, logging, and alerting tools for proactive issue detection.

  • Contribute to system documentation, operational procedures, and environment configuration standards.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in backend infrastructure or systems engineering.

  • Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix environments, particularly Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).

  • Solid experience in system-level troubleshooting, including performance tuning, logs analysis, and debugging environment failures.

  • Skilled in shell scripting (Bash, Korn, or similar).

  • Hands-on experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or Terraform).

  • Strong understanding of network protocols, routing, and firewalls.

  • Experience setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex environments across multiple stages.

  • Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment practices.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes).

  • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS).

  • Familiarity with system hardening and security best practices.

Soft Skills

  • Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting ability with a focus on root cause and prevention.

  • Strong communication and documentation skills.

  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently and take ownership.

  • Commitment to continuous improvement, reliability, and operational excellence.
