The Opportunity (Open to Remote or Hybrid)

As we continue to expand, we are seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join our finance team and take charge of critical financial functions, including accounts receivable, payment processing, collections management, and financial reporting. This is an opportunity to not only contribute to our financial success but also be involved in high impact areas like M&A, new acquisitions, and systems implementations including Netsuite Advanced Revenue Management module. If you have a strong background in financial accounting, US GAAP knowledge, and a proven ability to establish and maintain financial controls, this role offers the opportunity to contribute to the company's overall financial success, and support our company’s expansion goals.

Your Impact

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain financial reports in compliance with US GAAP, assist in the month-end accounting close process, including journal entries and account reconciliations. Generate financial statements and reports for management review, and assist in consolidating financial data from various sources.
  • Invoicing: Generate and distribute accurate and timely invoices to clients, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. 
  • Payment Processing: Oversee processing of incoming payments, including credit card payments and electronic funds transfers, while reconciling payments with invoices and resolving discrepancies.
  • Collections Management: Monitor accounts receivable aging, communicate with clients to resolve payment issues, and maintain accurate records of collection activities.
  • Financial Controls and Compliance: Build and establish financial controls to ensure data accuracy and integrity, and support external audits by providing necessary documentation and information, while also assisting with tax and SR&ED projects by providing required documentation and information.
  • System Implementation & Optimization: Implement advanced revenue recognition processes in NetSuite Advanced Revenue Management Module, ensuring seamless financial system integration to improve accuracy and efficiency. Develop and optimize revenue recognition practices to support our rapid growth and evolving business needs.

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance: A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with CPA certification or candidate.
  • Proven Experience: 2+ years of experience in financial audit experience preferably in a Big Four Accounting firm, with proficiency in accounting software and advanced skills in MS Excel. 
  • Business Acumen: You possess a deep understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting principles, enabling you to interpret financial data and translate it into actionable business strategies.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Strong communication skills with a proven ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment and smooth execution of objectives.
  • Solution Oriented: Skilled at identifying potential obstacles and finding effective solutions quickly. You understand the most powerful thing you can do to drive solutions is to deeply understand the problem. You are innovative and push boundaries when it comes to finding the best solution - you don’t just stick to the obvious or the “tried and true” strategies.
  • Time Management: Adept at juggling multiple tasks, setting priorities, and managing your time effectively. You don’t need guidance on structuring your day and you can effectively assess and shuffle priorities on the fly. You can juggle anything and you have devised ways of keeping yourself organized and on pace without losing track of any of the details.
