As a Product Marketing Manager at Cardinal Health, you will be at the forefront of our mission to improve patient outcomes and drive healthcare innovation. Working within our marketing and commercial excellence team, you will play a pivotal role in leveraging Global strategies to inform local go-to-market activities, tactics, and campaigns as well as offer expertise and insight into our tender response process for key Cardinal Brand product portfolios. This role reports to the Director of Product Marketing. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Communications and Process Improvement: 

  • Review, edit, and ensure the quality of diverse Marketing and Commercial Excellence communications. 

  • Oversee cross-portfolio promotional materials, digital assets, web content, and customer communications. 

  • Establish or modify processes for content creation, review, approval, and distribution. 

  • Contribute to other process improvement initiatives within the Marketing and Commercial Excellence department as required. 

Strategic Planning and Analysis: 

  • Manage the assigned product portfolio including forecasting and segmentation by category. 

  • Articulate product positioning vs. competitive set. 

  • Develop and execute innovative local go-to-market strategies leveraging market insights and customer feedback. 

  • Leverage market research to inform marketing strategies and identify growth opportunities, including customer feedback and needs analysis. Provide input into Global new product development. 

  • Contribute to pricing strategies and financial analyses based on market dynamics, historical pricing, and competitive pricing.  

  • Leverage competitive analyses to understand market trends, identify competitors' strengths and weaknesses. 

  • Continuously assess and refine local product strategies and initiatives based on market feedback, performance data, and emerging industry trends to drive continuous improvement and innovation. 

 

Content Management: 

  • Leverage and localize compelling Global marketing content for local campaigns, ensuring compliance with regulations and internal standards. 

  • Provide support to sales by equipping the team with necessary product and brand content, facilitating training sessions, and centralizing content within the CMS. 

  • Help identify content for promotional campaigns across various channels, contributing to brand marketing efforts and ensuring consistent messaging. 

  • Create and maintain all product-related content for the company website for the portfolio. 

  • In partnership with our Digital Hub team, prepare product-related content for trade shows and conferences, including on-brand promotional materials.  

 

Collaboration and Relationship Management: 

  • Collaborate with sales and contract teams for tender and RFP support, including customer-facing content, key messages, and value propositions. 

  • Develop/leverage training materials and resources for sales teams, healthcare professionals, and end-users to effectively promote and utilize Cardinal Health's products. 

  • Cultivate strong relationships with Cardinal Health product teams globally to maximize collaborative initiatives and coordinate marketing efforts. 

  • Collaborate with Medical Affairs for educational initiatives, webinars, and Key Opinion Leader development as required. 

 

Product Lifecycle Management: 

  • Manage product launches and discontinuations effectively, ensuring smooth transitions. 

  • Address both external customer communications and internal communication needs regarding product changes, recalls, and field actions in compliance with regulatory standards. 

  • Develop clear and compelling product positioning and messaging that resonates with target customers and effectively communicates the value proposition of Cardinal Health's products. 

  • Own content accuracy on Cardinal Health Canada e-commerce platform. 

  • Monitor product performance metrics, such as sales, market share, and customer satisfaction, to track the success of product launches and initiatives and identify areas for improvement. 

 

Required Skills

Writing Skills: Excellent writing, highlighted by your ability to craft clear, concise, and engaging content tailored to diverse audiences, is critical to this role. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role within the marketing department to ensure polished and effective written communications. 

Collaboration: Collaboration leads to clear and efficient product road mapping, product planning, prioritization, and an overall agile product development, pricing and promotions planning process. 

Analytical Skills: Superior ability to synthesize diverse and complex information and data and design refined strategies, solutions, workflows, and procedures that are presentable to stakeholders. 

Work Ethic: Performs and completes tasks in a timely fashion; adheres to workplace procedures, policies, and ethics; is a creative thinker who can develop product solutions on short notice; and who displays calmness and composure in the face of workload and pressure. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, science, or related field preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in medical device or health care marketing preferred.

  • Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills. 

  • Proficiency in Salesforce.com and Microsoft Office suite. 

  • Familiarity with MS Teams, SharePoint, Wrike, Highspot, or Tableau an asset. 

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced collaborative team environment and effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders. 

  • Ability to juggle a large product portfolio and multiple priorities.  

  • Be analytically inclined; understanding what data means and how to apply it to identify opportunities and solve problems. 

  • Know what it means to be focused on revenue-generating activities.  

  • Ability to manage multiple projects with many moving parts.  

  • Want to win vs. the competition.
