EQUIPMENT PRODUCT MANAGER (Not an IT Role)

THE ROLE

Reporting to the National Sales Manager, this role is focused on managing physical industrial equipment products, not software or IT systems. The Equipment Product Manager (EPM) is responsible for the strategy, development, and lifecycle management of Dynablast Division’s equipment product portfolio. The goal is to grow sales and profitability by ensuring that the equipment lineup remains competitive, innovative, and aligned with market needs. This role involves close collaboration with sales, technical, production, and marketing teams to deliver results in a physical product and manufacturing environment.


Important Note: This is not an IT, software, or computer programming position. It is a business and technical role centered around equipment and industrial products.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

·        Conducts competitive intelligence analysis on competitive features/benefits and product line comparisons.

·        Defines the product portfolio for each brand taking into consideration the competitive situation, costing, margin goals and brand strategy and positioning

·        Works with Technical and Production Departments to build innovation and differentiation into the product lineups

·        Establishes pricing and promotion policies and tactics

·        Creates and executes promotional activities including product launches and promotions.

·        Aids in creation and manages all marketing support materials – brochures / web / manuals

·        Create demand forecasts by model to ensure stock availability, within a limited inventory budget

·        Provides training and sales support to inside and outside sales staff

·        Visits customers and attends trade shows to keep on top of market trends and customer needs



Requirements

Essential:

·       Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business, Marketing, or Engineering.

·      Minimum 5 years of experience in a product management role with industrial or technical equipment

·       Strong knowledge of Canadian distribution channels and channel management principles.

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·       Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

·       Strong leadership and management skills.

·       Ability to analyze complex data and provide clear recommendations.

·       Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.

·       Strong planning, organizational, and time management abilities.

·        Adaptability to changing business needs and market conditions.


Desirable:

·       Project management experience in a related field.

·       Experience with pricing strategies, market analysis, and product selection.

·       Familiarity with John Brooks’ products, industry, and competitors.

·       Knowledge of graphics software and web content management.

·       Technical skills and ability to assess customer needs.

·       Bilingualism (English/French).

·        Enthusiastic, confident, and results-driven attitude

WORK ENVIRONMENT

·        Fast-paced environment in a dynamic competitive industry

·        Daily customer and inter-departmental/branch communication via telephone calls, faxes, emails, and virtual meetings

·        Exposure to deadlines, multiple demands and priorities, multi-tasking, and interruptions
