Your Role and Responsibilities:

As a Signal & Insight Distillation AI Specialist at Xanadu, you will be at the forefront of our applied AI initiatives through deep analysis of a diverse range of R&D data. This unique position allows you to spearhead insight discovery, statistical testing, model prototyping, and decision making for the ML team. These efforts will directly contribute to the development of our internal tool stacks, aimed at advancing the first commercially viable quantum computer. The ML team’s focus is to build and improve the modeling, optimization, simulation, data processing, and design methodology for our internal research. Situated at the intersection of multiple technical disciplines, you will have the unique opportunity to work with world leading researchers, scientists, engineers, and software developers. By infusing cutting-edge ML into the software tools, you have the chance to super-charge their research progress and even reshape how they work. You will:

  • Explore, process, visualize, and interpret structured and unstructured data from a variety of internal R&D projects.
  • Uncover patterns and generate actionable insights to inform research directions, ML development, and software design.
  • Prototype, experiment, and benchmark ML algorithms, statistical analyses, visualizations, and ETL pipelines.
  • Build and maintain monitoring systems for data-intensive workflows.
  • Collaborate closely with hardware engineers and researchers to develop new ML-driven solutions to complex challenges.
  • Ensure high-quality, reproducible data analysis and modeling processes.

At Xanadu, we primarily work with Python, Rust, GitHub, Docker, CI pipelines, and multiple cloud platforms. Proficiency in these technologies is essential.

Required qualifications and experience:

  • BSc. in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Math, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in machine learning, statistical modeling, experimental analysis, data science, or signal processing.
  • Strong knowledge of Python and its numerical/scientific ecosystem.
  • Deep understanding of machine learning and statistics.
  • Proficiency with multidimensional arrays in libraries like Numpy, XArray, PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with data wrangling and visualization across a variety of data types and sizes.
  • Experience with rigorous physical experiments or A/B testing in a production environment.
  • Familiarity with model interpretability, explainable ML, and AI-assisted data processing.
  • Experience with software development lifecycles, including version control, code review, testing, CI/CD, logging, profiling, debugging, and documentation.
  • Comfortable working with Linux shell, Git, and GitHub.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Enthusiasm for learning new technologies and scientific concepts with minimal supervision.
  • Solid communication and collaboration skills.
  • Basic knowledge of physics and linear algebra.

Preferred qualifications and experience

  • MSc in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Math, or related field.
  • Experience building data analysis pipelines for large scale experimental data.
  • Experience building fast streaming signal processing systems.
  • Excellent knowledge in physics and linear algebra.
  • Familiarity with optimization algorithms.
  • Familiarity with quantum computing
