Job Description

 

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Associate to join our Finance team. While the primary focus of this role is full-cycle Accounts Receivable (AR), including billing, collections, contract review, and reconciliation, the ideal candidate will also support broader accounting and finance functions as needed. This is a dynamic role well-suited to a strong communicator with experience managing customer relationships, following up with tax authorities, and contributing to various aspects of financial operations.

 

Key Responsibilities:
 

Billing & Invoicing:

  • Prepare, review, and submit accurate and timely customer invoices in accordance with contract terms.
  • Ensure billing systems and records are maintained and up to date.
  • Review customer contracts to ensure alignment with invoicing terms and revenue recognition.

Collections:

  • Monitor accounts receivable aging and proactively follow up on overdue accounts.
  • Support the collection process by initiating and managing customer communications, including making calls to clients to resolve payment issues.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and clients to address discrepancies and disputes impacting payment.

Tax File Follow-up:

  • Liaise with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and Revenu Québec to follow up on the status of client tax files.

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Act as the point of contact for the Sales team and clients regarding AR-related inquiries.
  • Provide exceptional service while addressing and resolving outstanding billing or payment issues.

Reporting & Analysis:

  • Assist in the analysis and reporting of client bad debts and doubtful accounts.
  • Provide periodic updates and insights to the Finance team on AR performance and risk exposure.

Additional Accounting Support:

  • Assist with other accounting or finance responsibilities as required, based on business needs or team priorities.

 

Qualifications

 

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Bilingual French & English.
  • 3+ years of experience in a full-cycle AR role, including billing and collections.
  • Familiarity with Canadian tax agencies (CRA and Revenu Québec) is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of customer contracts and invoicing systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., Kimble,     Workday, QuickBooks, etc.).
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
